Professional website maintenance packages in Brisbane designed for organisations that depend on their online presence. From security updates and performance optimisation to server monitoring and dedicated support, my maintenance plans ensure your website stays secure, fast, and reliable.

This hands-on approach means problems are caught and resolved before they impact your customers.
I offer website maintenance packages for all major platforms including WordPress, Laravel, Statamic, AWS, and more. Why choose me
-
What makes my maintenance different
Proactive Security & Vulnerability Protection
Website maintenance isn't just clicking update. I review changelogs, test plugin and framework compatibility, harden your site against emerging threats, and ensure two-factor authentication and security best practices are enforced. Every update is performed manually with a rollback plan in place.
Daily Backups & Disaster Recovery
Automated daily backups with off-site redundancy ensure your data is always protected. In a worst-case scenario, I can rapidly restore your website to minimise downtime and data loss. Backups are tested regularly to confirm they can be restored when needed.
Performance Optimisation & Speed Monitoring
Slow websites lose customers and rankings. I continuously monitor Core Web Vitals, optimise caching strategies, clean up databases, compress images, and fine-tune server configurations to keep your site loading fast for every visitor.
Direct Access to an Experienced Brisbane Developer
No account managers, no junior developers, no ticket queues. When you're on a maintenance plan, you deal directly with me - a developer with over 15 years of commercial experience who knows your site inside out. I'm based in Brisbane and available during business hours.
Google Search Console & SEO Health Monitoring
I actively monitor your Google Search Console to catch indexing issues, crawl errors, and ranking drops early. This proactive approach means SEO problems are identified and resolved before they start costing you traffic and revenue.
Server & Application Log Analysis
Many website issues are invisible to visitors but silently cost you customers - broken contact forms, failed API integrations, 404 errors on key pages, slow database queries. I review server and application logs monthly to find and fix these hidden problems before they escalate.

The Difference
-
Real maintenance. Not bulk plugin updates with the lights off.
Most agencies run maintenance as a side service: an automated tool pushes plugin updates across dozens of client sites with zero oversight. My maintenance is hands-on. Every update is reviewed against changelogs, tested on staging, and logged. Server and application logs are reviewed monthly for the hidden errors automation cannot see.
A typical agency
Bulk plugin updates with the lights off.
Bulk plugin and theme updates pushed across dozens of client sites via automation, with no changelog review or compatibility testing.
You are one of 200+ accounts on a junior maintenance technician's spreadsheet. Nobody on the team knows your codebase.
Server and application logs are never reviewed. Broken contact forms, failed payments, 404s on key pages, and slow database queries go undetected.
When something breaks at 3am, you wait in a ticket queue behind every other client until someone gets to it.
You stay because leaving is painful. Credentials, custom configurations, and tribal knowledge are buried inside their team and tooling.
Communication goes through an account manager who has no technical understanding of your site.
Working with me
Every update reviewed, tested, and logged.
Every update is manually reviewed against changelogs, tested on staging where available, and verified after deploy. Rollback plan in place.
I run a small client list and know every site personally. The developer maintaining your site is often the developer who built it.
Logs are reviewed monthly for hidden errors that visitors do not report. Problems are caught and resolved before they become customer complaints.
Uptime monitoring catches issues before you do. Care and Enterprise plan clients get direct Slack or Teams access; Enterprise gets after-hours incident response.
You stay because the work is good and the site is healthier than it was when you arrived.
You talk to me directly. The person reviewing your logs and pushing your updates is the same person on every email.
“We have used Jonathan for a number of years to develop and maintain our rather complicated Online Portal and website. Jonathan is always extremely responsive to requests and proactive in ensuring our online presence is safe, presents well and is functional to our customers needs. We would definitely recommend Jonathan for your custom web development needs.”
Nathan Smith
Marketing Manager, East Coast Bullbars
“Digital Bird is my first pick for delivering web projects on time, on budget and to the brief — every time.
Beyond being a delight to work with, Jonathan Bird is that rare breed of developer who is both masterful on the tools (an absolute Laravel whizz!) while also being adept at engaging the client in UX-thinking, to which he applies expert insights, gained through years of experience, to help further improve the end design for the target user’s experience.
This powerful combination of skills means that 4 years on and a variety of projects later (from search directories to corporate website developments), Digital Bird firmly remains my first pick for developer.”
Emma Keller
Communications Manager, Brisbane South PHN
“We’ve been working with Jonathan Bird for our website maintenance, and he has been nothing short of exceptional. Jonathan consistently goes above and beyond, responding quickly whenever we need help and resolving issues with impressive turnaround time. His communication is clear and thorough — he always explains what the problem was, how he fixed it, and provides helpful recommendations for long-term solutions. It’s rare to find someone this reliable and proactive. Highly recommend!”
Nichola Ross
Marketing Manager, Rapidline (FurnX Commercial Furniture)
“Digital Bird has had a huge influence on our business providing many solutions besides just a fantastic reliable website. Jonathan is great to work with and has a solution to every challenge. Jonathan also has the ability to “dumb it down” and provide timely advice and assistance if something goes astray. With Jonathan we have in excess of 99% uptime on all three websites.”
Jeff Ross
Director, Impact Office Supplies
“Velg Training has had an excellent experience working with Digital Bird. Jonathan has supported us with a complex Laravel/PHP website and has brought a rare mix of deep technical knowledge, practical problem solving, and clear communication.
He has assisted with major infrastructure and platform work across AWS, Laravel Forge, Cloudflare, Redis, S3, Sentry, PayWay, Mailchimp/Mandrill and related integrations. His work has included setting up and migrating infrastructure, improving performance, resolving production issues, monitoring errors, modernising legacy code, and strengthening the reliability of key business workflows such as checkout, invoicing, membership exports, PDF generation, transactional emails and background queues.
What stands out most is that Jonathan does not just “fix the ticket”. He investigates properly, explains the cause in plain language, and looks for the right long-term solution rather than quick patches. He has helped us move away from fragile legacy processes, improve automated testing, reduce errors, improve email reliability, address performance bottlenecks, and make the platform easier to maintain into the future.
He is responsive, thorough and highly professional, with an obvious understanding of business-critical websites and custom web applications. We would happily recommend Jonathan to any organisation needing a skilled, reliable and commercially minded Laravel/PHP web developer.”
Leonie Davis
Director, Content and Strategy, Velg Training
“Was an absolute pleasure to work with Jonathan. Could not be happier with our new website! Professional, responsive, brilliant communication from the beginning to go live. If you are fortunate enough to be in a conversation with Jonathan for a new site - just do it!”
Alex Brennan
Director, Blue Ink Office Supplies
“I’ve worked with Jonathan from Digital Bird for several years and found him to be a highly competent developer who often exceeds expectations.
Together, we’ve collaborated on a number of medium-sized platforms serving hundreds of thousands of users, including learning management systems, a widely-used school well-being platform, trade promotion competition sites, and more.
Jonathan is very skilled in API and platform integration, payment systems (such as Stripe), AWS, internet security, and more. As a Project Manager/Product Owner, I feel very confident working with Jonathan and recommending his services to our clients.”
Zachary Bavas
Technical Operations, Invision Media
“Highly recommend Jonathan for anything web development in Brisbane and Australia-wide. Have worked with a lot of developers over the years and Jonathan’s work and communication on projects has been a clear standout. A very talent developer if you’re looking for anything from WordPress, Shopify, Laravel, or anything in-between.”
Brodie Clark
Director, Brodie Clark SEO Consulting
“Jonathan Bird is one of the best I have worked with in this space. He is responsive, clever and contributes to the brief, and most importantly, he is a great person to work with. It can be hard to find the right people who can take on something and lift it to another dimension. Jonathan does that and more.”
Mark Gold
Director of Corporate Affairs, AMA Group Ltd
“Jonathan Bird was instrumental in redesigning my business’ website and provided invaluable feedback throughout the entire process. The results far exceeded my expectations. They then went above and beyond and met all deadlines in revamping the site again, when we re branded our business. Jonathan has been managing our website updates and hosting ever since and, with more than 10 years industry experience, is always able to add value, solve problems and exceed expectations. I highly recommend him.”

New to website maintenance?
If you're unsure what website maintenance involves, what it should cost, or what to look for in a provider, I've written a comprehensive guide that covers everything from CMS and server updates to security, backups, and performance monitoring.
Here are some of the most common questions about website maintenance packages that I get asked.
How much do website maintenance packages cost?
My website maintenance packages start from $540/month + GST for the Stability plan, which covers security updates, uptime monitoring, backups, malware scanning, and server monitoring. The Care plan ($4,950/month + GST) adds priority support, bug fixes, site improvements, monthly sprint planning, and a weekly delivery cadence. The Enterprise plan ($9,900/month + GST) includes ongoing development, quarterly business reviews, roadmap governance, custom integrations, and ERP/CRM support. Stability plan pricing is for WordPress websites - Laravel, Statamic, and custom application maintenance is available with tailored pricing. Additional support and development hours can be purchased across all plans.
What's included in a website maintenance package?
The Stability plan covers CMS and plugin updates, uptime monitoring with real-time alerts, security scanning and malware removal, server health monitoring, PHP/Nginx/MySQL updates, daily backups, and direct developer email support. The Care plan adds priority support, bug fixes, site improvements, a monthly sprint planning cadence, Google Search Console monitoring, a staging environment, and a monthly maintenance report. The Enterprise plan includes everything in Care plus ongoing development, WIP meetings, quarterly business reviews, custom integrations, and emergency after-hours incident response.
Do I need to sign a long-term contract?
Plan terms vary depending on the level of service. Some plans run on a rolling basis, while higher-tier plans with dedicated capacity may include an annual commitment. Either way, terms are transparent and discussed upfront before you sign anything. Most of my clients stay for years because they see the value in the work, not because they feel locked in.
What platforms do you provide maintenance for?
I provide maintenance for WordPress, Laravel, Statamic, Shopify, and custom web applications. I also manage AWS infrastructure, server administration (Nginx, MySQL, Redis, PHP), and third-party integrations like Algolia, Stripe, and Google Merchant Centre. If your business runs on multiple platforms, I can create a bespoke retainer that covers everything.
How quickly will you respond if my website goes down?
Response times depend on your plan. Stability plan clients receive email support. Care plan clients get priority support with a dedicated Slack or Teams channel. Enterprise plan clients have emergency after-hours support and the strongest delivery rhythm. All plans include uptime monitoring with real-time alerts, so I am often aware of issues before you are.
What does the onboarding process look like?
Once you sign up, I perform a comprehensive audit of your website and server environment. This includes reviewing your current security posture, checking for outdated software, analysing performance, and setting up monitoring tools. I then create a prioritised action plan to address any immediate risks or issues. The full onboarding process typically takes one to two weeks, and you'll receive a detailed report of my findings and the steps I've taken.
Can I request changes or new features as part of my plan?
Yes. The Care plan includes priority bug fixes, site improvements, and a weekly delivery cadence with monthly sprint planning. The Enterprise plan includes ongoing development, custom integrations, backend development, and advanced UX/UI work at scale - all managed through a Trello board with quarterly business reviews to keep priorities aligned.
How is your maintenance different from agencies?
Most agencies use automated tools to bulk-update plugins across dozens of client sites with minimal oversight. My approach is fundamentally different. I manually review every update, check changelogs for breaking changes, test updates on a staging environment where available, and verify everything works correctly after deployment. I also review server and application logs for errors that automated tools simply cannot detect - things like broken forms, failed payment integrations, or slow database queries that silently cost you customers.
Do you provide maintenance reports?
The Care and Enterprise plans include a monthly maintenance report covering what updates were performed, any security issues identified and resolved, uptime statistics, and recommendations for improvements. Enterprise clients receive additional reporting during their quarterly business review sessions. The Stability plan is focused on delivering core updates and security, so does not include monthly reporting.
Can you take over maintenance from another agency or developer?
Absolutely. I regularly take over maintenance from other agencies and developers. The transition process is smooth - I'll request access to your hosting, domain registrar, and any relevant third-party services, then perform a full audit of your current setup. I document everything and create a maintenance baseline so nothing falls through the cracks. There's no downtime involved in the switchover.
